Booked a table for 10 for midday – 8 people arrived.
Orders were taken in a reasonable timeframe and the drinks arrived quickly. A cheesy pizza arrived at the table (unordered) and we were told the meals were on their but there had been a mixup. A little after 12.40 the first meals arrived and at 12.45 we were still missing 3. After discussion with the wait staff these eventually arrived.
The quality of the meals was not consistent – the burger was good, sausages and mash ok but the shephards pie was poor. It was not value for money and was incredibly salty.
Twice I have been to Bruhaus and neither was an enjoyable experience – I won’t try for a third.Comment from Thomas H.of The Bruhaus 9/05/2013Hi Karen, apologies for the delay in responding to your comments…. More » -

A group of us arrived pre AFL match April 25th for pre game dinner and drinks.
One of the two staff members that were in view was a new staff member on a busy night and he did very well under the pressure, considering time was an issue for some patrons wanting to get to the game on time.
Four of our group ordered burgers, three of our group ordered the tandoori chicken kebabs and one other ordered the Shephards pie.
All but the three tandoori chicken kebabs came out in a timely manner. 45min later, the tandoori chicken kebabs had still not arrived, when enquired, we were told they “had to be made from scratch”, hence the delay. 10-15 minutes later, we still had not received the chicken kebabs, and as we had to make it to the game, we asked for a refund. The staff were accommodating and apologised.
Would go back for drinks.Comment from Thomas H.of The Bruhaus 9/05/2013 Hide »Hi Caraline, thankyou for your comments. We have discussed the… More »Hi Caraline, thankyou for your comments. We have discussed the issue with the kitchen team and they apologised for the delay on the food and agree that it was not up to scratch. On the night in question we had an extremely busy evening dinner wise and probably did three times our normal covers with the same amount of kitchen staff. This was an issue from our end and we underestimated the sheer amount of people going to the AFL game and wanting to dine. The kebabs have been a problem dish for us for a while and we are looking to take them off the menu as they are time consuming. I can only apologise for the wait and the fact you had to go to the game hungry! We are working with the kitchen team to avoid this happening in the future.

Tom

Went for an early lunch today. There were four others there when I entered.
I was quickly approached and asked whether I
was there for lunch, given a menu and told to take a table.
This was followed by the drinks waiter about 5 Min’s later. I ordered a Mac Ale ($8) fairly promptly served. I then ordered fish and chips from the menu ($12). It took about 15Min’s to be served.
So Decor, Nice surroundings with a couple of let-downs. The Blackboard specials couldn’t be seen from my table. The floor looked unclean and shouldn’t have been swept in between breakfast & lunch service, and there was dishes piled up on a tray at the end of the bar which sat there waiting to be cleared away.
Service, Fairly prompt, but then there seemed to be staff waiting around and it wasn’t busy.
Also I didn’t get that welcoming, happy you’re here, I’m here to serve you feeling that you get from other service professionals.
Food, Chips were in my opinion a little undercooked, not crispy enough. Fish was nice, but the batter brown and a little oily. So yeah Pub Food. 4.5/10 -

Was looking forward to going to this place for a while, but shouldn’t have bothered. The beer selection is good, but that is about all. The bar staff are rude, and the food apalling. We ordered two platters which were so laughable when they arrived that we took photos of them to show to our friends. The chicken kebabs we essentially just wooden sticks with a string of chicken wrapped around the stick – no wider than the small stick itself. The samosas and spring rolls were obviously just bought from a supermarket bulk box and deep fried. Will not be going back.

Went on a Thur night for couple of beers and a meal. Told chef was not working so food limited to pizza and wedges etc. So ordered a meat pizza and a margarita and wedges and fries. Pizza was worst we had ever tasted, including some very average supermarket versions. There appeared to be no base sauce at all and the cheese was clearly budget mild. The tomatoes were just a few thick cuts. The meat pizza was, it seems, the same pizza with a few chunks of processed ham and pepperoni. Us two hungry blokes gobbled down a slice or two before realising that it just was not worth it. Fries and wedges were fine but, really, would you expect even the worst restaurant to stuff up wedges and fries! When the waitress asked if we wanted a doggy bag I could not help myself in advising her that I would not feed even my dog that form of “food”. Harsh but true!
