If you walk in on your own don’t expect speedy service because the staff will ignore you until you point out that you have been waiting for bout 10mins & proceed to the bar to put in your own order & drink. Customer service is common courtesy, do we not care anymore? Funny thing is word of mouth is a powerful thing – recommendations won’t be coming from me.

Have eaten at the Bruhaus a few times this month. If I could give it three and a half stars I would as the place is better than average but not good enough to rate it very good.
The food is pretty standard pub grub, but the portions are not as huge as you would traditionally get. The burger is excellent, fish and chips good and the quesadilla with chicken is delicious. The pizzas are also pretty good. The service can be a bit inconsistent though, sometimes all the meals come out together and sometimes not. Sometimes a staff member will come take your order and sometimes they won’t – it’s a bit hit and miss.
Also, there’s not a lot of ambience as it is a pub, and, with a concrete floor and a high ceiling, it can be a bit noisy.
Fridays it is really busy and extra noisy and it can be difficult to get a table.
If you’re looking for good pub food at a good price check this place out – just not on A Friday between four and eight.

Wouldn’t bother eating here.. We went here expecting to have the Advertised two for one burgers on a Tuesday. Drank beer for an hour then went to order… However, was informed they Closed the kitchen at 7pm claiming they couldn’t afford to keep the chef on. Very poor service.

We happened on this awesome bar while walking around Wellington on our first night there – it was beer and burger night: great atmosphere, amazing value, fantastic food sourced locally, lots of craft beers to choose from and staff who really know their stuff – what more could you want? I’d heartily recommend The Bruhaus to anyone!

Had a lunch booking for 7 today for 12pm. Due to a mix up with our orders, we didn’t get to eat until around 1.30pm. However, the way the staff handled the mix up was brilliant – and resulted in Bruhaus offering us a round of drinks and then actually footing our bill! Mistakes do happen (they were very busy) so we liked the way they owned up to the error, and their response to it meant that we will return there as a work team again in the future. And to top it off the meals were yummy!
