Urmmm I wished I read these reviews before coming here.
Wanted to treat myself and my man to a nice piece of steak the other night after hearing good things about this place.
There is not much to say really, most of the waiters there were cold and snobbish, slow with response, we felt very unwelcome. But there was one that was a middle-eastern waiter who was particularly helpful, very attentive with choosing our meals.
The steak was pretty good quality, but side dishes…. kind of appalling for a place of this standard, the dessert was the most disappointing, I had the passionfruit creme brulee which was burnt rather than caramelised, the the creme was no pudding-like at all….. it was cold looking runny like egg-white froth.
By that time we just wanted to go, on the way out, we walked past 3 waiters who saw us leaving, they continued wiping glasses and stacking trays…. we waited and waited at the counter, about 5 minutes someone finally came to us, he then took our money without a smile.
Suggestion to you guy: Train your staff to smile more often, maybe customers might still come back even for your average food, but when you have unacceptable service, you’re digging a hole in the grave during a very bad time with the economy. Please get your nose out of the sky boys. -

My wife and I went to the restaurant as an anniversary dinner. We were anticipating a delicious meal as we have dined here before. Service was fast and polite to start but once our orders were taken we were left alone for over an hour until our food came out. All the while the table of 6 next to us, which arrived after us, was frequently fussed over. No ask of extra drinks and once meals were served nobody came to see if our meal was OK, which it wasn’t. The fillet steak, ordered medium well, was like a crisp piece of roast meat and my medium rib eye was nearly as well done as the fillet. I am not usually too fussy, but when a dinner for 2 still costs well over $100 (even with 2 for 1!!!) I would expect a higher quality than was received. The meal was made even more unappealing as there was a large black hair on my steak. From their lack of contact and surprise when told, I expect the staff may have known that our steak was far from adequate. We would not return as the price of the meal is overpriced for a poor quality meal. We have dined at Crazy horse before and had a wonderful meal/experience that reflected the price but in comparison with the other night we would not risk it when there are many other restaurants that deliver to a consistently high standard.

We’ve been to The Crazy Horse twice and both times we were very happy with the meal and service. The fillet steaks were consistently tender and melted in the mouth. The vegetables were imaginative and delicious, and the wine selection is good as well.
Ok, the price isn’t exactly cheap, but the service was excellent (they’re very informed about their food/wine) and they DO have specials: Sunday 2 for 1 burgers and Monday 2 for 1 steaks! (Though you’ll need to book in advance for these as they’re very popular!) -

well well wanted to have the best steak in Welllington, looked on the net and found a place called Crazy Horse. well no booking too two of us thanks for that being sunday was on our side, nice decor inside, comfy and greeted well. Ok drinks menu well a bit pricy was expected though bythe decor so no prob there… Drinks came fast as the place was not that busy, waiting staff were very attentive made us feel comfortable………
Lovely menu, lots of choices, thought of having a burger as it was tempting two for one deal but then purpose was to have a steak so back tracked to steak options, well options were awesome, ordered a sirloin steak, was told it comes medium rare ( just wondering what difference will it makeif its medium served if advised by the customer well they must have a reason i didn’t bother to ask….)…… Partner ordered a aged steak so with bone marrow thing con’t remember the name, well meals arrived ok no problems there…. For a price I would say 300gms means 300 gms I have dinned thousands of places i would say it was a rip off…. well i thought quantity will take over my satisfaction y quality. but i guess i was building for a disappointment and there it comes, It just a simple steak nothing different in there i thought i am just being more critical tried my partners one its exactly same, I just wonder what was the difference between the two steak if the difference of price was 10 dollars or so and it was same 300gms……….. I would say people cooking steak is an art that cusomers should be able to tell not just putting on the menu with some fancy words, it shud stand up to the expectations people build by reading your fancy menu…….guys guys guys if you know you have it then deliver it………..
Oh I see I forgot we ordered an entree as well calamari there were 4 pieces of 3cms / 8cms calamari with bunch of salad in the middle man i know its the presentation and things are getting costly now a days but you can do better,,,,,,,, ihave worked as a resturant manager and i tell you if you more of you margin and increase your quantity you will sell more and increase your clientle……………
Well anyway not here to give business tipe just to say in a final word that there is much better places food wise than crazy horse steak…… Try whitehouse or lonestar they have a steak selection and I would say mush better…………… Cheers…………..

Good steak.
I’ve eaten here 2 or 3 times and always enjoyed it, don’t look at the prices – pick the food you like and you wont be disappointed. Its not the cheapest but its good food and I always look forward to going back. A friend raves about the burger, its meant to be made from all the off cuts from the good steaks .. I’ve always preferred to go for a tried and trusted steak.
