We dined at The General Practitioner for the first time in a couple of years and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. I was really impressed with the spring lamb tenderloin dish which was beautifully presented on tiny pieces of potato, olive, green bean and sundried tomato chunks with tzatziki. The combination of flavours was out of this world! My partner enjoyed a medium rare char grilled rib eye steak with chips and café de paris butter. Our service was extremely quick, which was convenient as we were on our way to a show but would have made us feel time pressured otherwise. The architecture inside this building is spectacular. We were sitting outside in an extension of the main building which got very noisy (and cold), even with the awnings up. The close proximity of the tables and chairs shows just how popular this restaurant is in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Overall, this was a very pleasant meal.

Have been to The GP now several times and have consistently found the food to be really creative and yummy. Really good wholesome food. When I recently had some salmon that I personally wanted cooked a little more – nothing was a problem and they cleverly cooked and created it all again as if I hadn’t touched it. Staff are very approachable and hospitable. Would definitely recommend – especially for week day lunch treat.

Really nice dining and a fantastic beer selection to match, it was so nice to find a place like this on my walk home

The GP has a great atmosphere, and the staff are friendly and efficient however the food is very average in both flavour and portion size, not particularly well presented, and lacking flair. Our group all agreed – its overpriced for the eating experience.

We were 30mins late to our booking but they still had our table which was great. Great service, best I have seen anywhere in while. Food was fantastic, perfect serving size, we ordered garlic bread, main and dessert but didn’t really need the garlic bread as the sizing of the meals was great Definitely would go again and highly recommend.
