Zibibbo is a restaurant upstairs and a cocktail/lounge bar downstairs. The menu is inspired by the rustic flavours of Italy and Spain.

This is the second time we have been here and first visit was not so great so decided to give it another go.
Entrees were delish, I had smoked salmon with prawn fritter and partner had the risotto. Both were delicious with balanced flavours.
Mains were the rotisserie chicken with capsicum sauce and scotch fillet. Chicken was tasty and the Artichoke couscous divine, but the partners steak was slighty undercooked (we asked for med rare) and it was quite fatty for a scotch fillet.
Dessert was by far the best course. Partner had chocolate cherry mousse which was a beautiful balance of flavours and not too rich and I had the ice cream/sorbets. Ginger and pistachio ice creams and green apple and wildberry sorbets beautifully presented in two tulle cones held up by a wire contraption. The piece of crunchie that came with it was nice too. Beautiful clean flavours and def a great ‘light’ way to end the night.
Unfortunately the service left a little to be desired. For a “Michelin” starred restaurant I expected a little more attention but unfortunately had to wave down waiter to order, then for more wine, then for a dessert menu. Waiting times were just a little too long.
Overall. I probably wont return to Zibibbo which is a shame because I thought it would be better the second time round. Although the food wasnt ‘bad’ when I dine out at those prices I want the whole experience including food, wine and good service. Thats what customer service is to me. -

Went here for lunch after buying a voucher from Daily Do which wasn’t worth it in the end.
The lunch menu was all pasta. Be prepared to wait for a long long time before your meal arrrives. Atmoshpere exceelent, service excellent. Had a main and a desert for $35, bit expensive and prob not worth it if you looking for something tastier.
Wouldn’t go there again, not because it’s terrible but its too expensive and I can get tastier food for cheap at other restaurants.
Also at the end when we went to pay our bill we had to wait for 10 minutes before the manager came from downstairs and she wasn’t friendly at all. No hello, hope you enjoyed your meal etc. Left the place not feeling good. -

On a typical windy Wellington night, My family and I seeked a restaurant with class, atmosphere and most importantly GOOD FOOD!!! We found all three of these things at Zibibbo. We started off with the tapas for two and were immensely impressed with the range of starters. We went on to the woodfired pizzas, Once again we were impressed! The pizzas had a light, crispy base with an even spread of fresh tomato sauce and a sprinkling of delicous, flavoursome basil. It took a LOT of thinking to figure out what to get on the dessert menu, Everything looked so good! But in the end we decided on the dessert tapas, AMAZING!! Im not going to say what they were, you are going to have to find out! We agree that this is a splurge of a special occassion because its not cheap but it is so worth it! We are definately coming back for more!

This place is amazing. I love it. Probably the best best restaurant I’ve been to in Wellington. Love the platter for two. Service was great!

On a wet windy Monday night it was tempting to order room service, but we braved the weather to eat at Zibibbo. The restaurant was empty when we arrived (but began filling up quickly) and we settled in whilst the waitress told us the specials and brought drinks. Wine by the glass was pretty pricey, even for wellington.
We skipped entrees and went straight for the pizza. The potato and rosemary pizza was Divine. It was thin, not stodgy and I could actually taste the herb and tomato’s. My partner had the spicy Italian sausage pizza, which he said was average and not very spicy at all.
The restaurant was almost full by now and we were wondering what was so good about this place, considering the weather and that it was Monday. The couples either side of us had ordered the tapas starter which was presented very well and made me jealous!
Anyway I’d spied creme brulee for dessert and it was just as it should be, crisp on top with a dreamy creamy base. However it was spoilt by having stewed fejoa on the bottom which was a bit like having pickle with custard. Ick! It really didn’t need the fruit.
When we went to pay we asked if they were always that busy and found out it was the last night of the entertainment card offer, hence the crowds.
